As an conscious spiritual-preneur, you’re wearing a lot of hats – including striving to have a successful business. By definition, that means you have to handle your money, marketing and wanting to be responsible in your business. “Heart-Based” Does NOT Equal “Broke”!

As a heart-based service professional, you walk a unique path to achieving financial independence – the “old ways” of creating financial security aren’t going to work for you. It used to be that you worked hard for your money, hung in there to get the job done, and saved your pennies for a rainy day to save up enough over years to be able to have money to manage. But those days are (thankfully!) gone!

Now, we know that money is a form of energy. As a heart-based business owner, there are two aspects to money energy that you must become fluent in understanding for your financial freedom.

First, the energy of money is the direct reflection of our ability to create access points to our solutions so that people know how to value and pay us for them.

Second, once we have received our value in the form of money, we have to know how to manage it successfully.

What Your Financial Illiteracy is Costing You

By not having a financial education, you are at risk for a number of reasons:

Not knowing your net worth means you aren’t planning for your future effectively.

You’re not preparing for and living a healthy financial lifestyle that is sustainable over time.

You can’t evaluate business opportunities for your financial viability.

Your business reflects your financial literacy… if you don’t get the money handled, your business suffers.

You’re potentially blocking the flow of abundance because you don’t know how to handle it when it does come in.

You’re avoiding the consequences of living in the physical plane without attending to your financial literacy – wherever you go, there it is.

It’s likely that you will be in the 97% of the U.S. population that will be uncomfortable in retirement.

If only 3% of your clients were happy with your work, and that number didn’t increase quickly, you wouldn’t be in business very long. And yet 97% of people today are not financially comfortable in their retirement years… do you want to be one of them? One of my mentors once said, “You’re not planning to fail – you’re just failing to plan and that has the same result.”

On Being a Heart-Based Service Professional

Elderly women, defined as age 65+, are a growing segment of our population – this is also one of the highest groups who experience high rates of poverty. This isn’t necessary – it’s simply a reflection of our lack of financial education for women in general. This becomes even more important to remember as a female heart-based business owner, because there are a lot of other unique challenges you face:

Balancing business demands with having a personal life

Having a tendency to put others first and tend to their needs

Not feeling worthy of claiming your value financially

Functioning without clear strategy but relying on the kindness of the heart for guidance

Doing what you do in the moment without regard to what becomes “the money monster”

Avoiding the “stigma” of being a hard-core business owner (and all which that means)

And many more subtle messages that we have simply and unconsciously adopted over the course of your lifetime.

No one else can, or should, care about your money as much as you do. And if you are not developing a healthy relationship with money, you are doing your business a tremendous disservice. Here’s just one example of what I mean by that: let’s say you can provide your clients with a solution that gives them 100 times the cost of the value they paid for it… if they pay less than the value, or let’s say even zero cost, they get 100 times the value they paid for – which is ZERO! We female heart-based service professionals MUST think differently about money!

You have a unique advantage by virtue of being a heart-based business owner in developing a new relationship with money, because you understand that it is a spiritual practice to take care of yourself. You inherently know that by taking care of you and what matters to your health will come back to you manifest in your business. Sometimes it just comes down to the practical “How-Tos”… and I can help you there.

As I said, in my youth, I personally took many financial paths that led me nowhere fast. I have witnessed friends and family members that have been hurt financially as a result of their honest ignorance. It completely validated that I was doing the right thing by working with people just like you in my business.
